NOAH Issues Convention is Saturday, May 20! Mark your calendars and sign-up to attend now!

Every three to four years, NOAH re-evaluates what issues it should be focusing on over the next several years by having a Listening Campaign among its member organizations, and then taking the issue areas that emerge from that to form a slate of issue areas to be presented and voted on by the membership at an Issues Convention. Sign up here to attend!

The Convention will take place on Saturday, May 20, from 3:00 to 5:30 pm at Greater Bethel AME Church, 1300 South St, Nashville, TN 37212. We will carpool from GNUUC, leaving around 2:00 pm to allow plenty of time for parking, signing in, and finding our place in the sanctuary. We will have one vote for each of us attending from GNUUC, up to a maximum of 10 votes, so be sure to indicate that you are from GNUUC when you sign in. We are not limited in the number of our attendees.

May Share the Plate: Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America

Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people against gun violence. They are calling for a Mother’s Day of Action: This Mother’s Day, we don’t want cards. We don’t want flowers. We want Congress to reinstate the assault weapons ban.

From their website: We pass stronger gun laws and work to close the loopholes that jeopardize the safety of our families. We also work in our own communities and with business leaders to encourage a culture of responsible gun ownership. We know that gun violence is preventable, and we’re committed to doing what it takes to keep families safe.

For more information, see: https://momsdemandaction.org/

Moms Demand Action is part of Everytown for Gun Safety. Check out their Statement of Diversity, which reflects many of our UU values..

Annual Stewardship Campaign: Pledge Cards Due by this Sunday, March 26

Our Annual Pledge Campaign runs from March 12, 2023, through March 26, 2023.

Pledge season is a time to reconsider the ways in which we each contribute to our communal life, to dream about lovely and exciting things we might do and create together, and to recognize that our individual generosity is the lifeblood of our congregation and crucial to the embodiment of our collective commitment to the transforming power of love.

This an invitation to love yourself, each other, and the communities in which our congregation is embedded, to be a part of choosing who and how we hope to be together in the future, and to make plans about how you will share your time, attention, and money with GNUUC next year.

Make your commitment to our future together at Greater Nashville Unitarian Universalist Congregation by visiting https://www.nashvilleuu.org/pledge (or mailing in a hard copy pledge card) and pledging as generously as you are able.

Now is the time. This is your invitation.
