Nashville Concerto Orchestra is pleased to offer our second concert of the season on November 20th at Trinity Presbyterian Church (3201 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville 37215) at 3:00PM.
Conductor Dean Whiteside will lead the ensemble in Haydn's beloved Symphony number 88.
" I'm not sure if it's in the top 10 greatest symphonies of all time, but it certainly should be. It is great without an ounce of pretense. Haydn was lucky enough to work for a boss, Prince Esterhazy, who loved music and gave him essentially free rein. Since there was no mechanical reproduction and novelty was the name of the game, Haydn wrote and wrote and wrote some more. In addition to operas, oratorios, and piano sonatas, he all but invented the string quartet (68 altogether)and 104 symphonies!"
The second half is devoted to emerging artist Tim Mcnary. His forthcoming LP, “Loose Leaf,” was produced by Jon Estes and will be released by Audionetwork on Friday, October 22nd. It depicts the human longing for connection in all its forms. "I'm excited by beautiful things all of us are capable of living and creating when we allow curiosity and gratefulness to lead us. "
Nashville Concerto Orchestra concerts are always free, all the artists donate their time and talent. A love offering will be gratefully accepted for Second Harvest Food Bank.
