Nashville Chapter Americans United for Separation of Church and State thanks you for sharing the collection plate. We came close to defeating school vouchers and will be vigilant next legislative session for attempts to expand them.

For your members who have questioned whether AU is extreme in opposing some church actions, you might like to know that the General Secretary and President of the National Council of Churches, Jim Winkler, is on the Americans United Board. NCC represents 38 Christian faith groups. It does not represent the denominations advocating school vouchers or intent upon seeking favoritism from government. Also, the chair of the AU Board is a Unitarian minister, with the previous chair having been a rabbi.
