Planned Parenthood has transformed women's health and empowered millions of people worldwide to make informed health decisions, forever changing the way they live, love, learn and work. By offering contraceptive services, Planned Parenthood prevents the need for many abortions.

The merger locally continues health care and services to 95 counties across Tennessee, plus regions of northern Mississippi, eastern Arkansas, and southern Kentucky. In 2017, the statewide health centers served more than 20,000 patients for more than 30,000 visits last year.

PPTNM maintains four health centers: Knoxville, Nashville and two in the Memphis area.

A federal court just upheld Trump's family planning gag rule, which will strip Title X funding from Planned Parenthood and other clinics that provide care for 4.1 million low-income people a year. Trump's gag rule bans healthcare providers from discussions about abortion or providing referrals for abortion care. It's already illegal to use federal funds for abortion, and only 3% of Planned Parenthood’s services are abortion related. Trump's gag rule forces health-care providers to deny patients basic health information -- a blatant violation of medical ethics.
