Winter Notes from Still Spring Memorial Garden
This week, Sandy B. and Jane W., always seeking to improve the Garden, are installing new plant markers. These copper markers harmonize with the surroundings and are written with a special fade-resistant ink. They should last for many years.
Another improvement: Nathanael R. kindly relocated the wooden Garden entrance sign and dug two deep holes to secure and straighten it. It looks intentional now.
Birds seen and heard in the Garden this week:
The bird feeder is attracting a variety of feathered neighbors: Northern Cardinal, Carolina Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, and White-Breasted Nuthatch. A beautiful Hermit Thrush visited the open grassy area. Overhead, we heard a passing flock of Sandhill Cranes. There's always life in the Garden.
