Sun., Oct. 9 at 3 PM: Build the Beloved Community! NOAH Public Meeting (Offsite)

Build the Beloved Community! NOAH Public Meeting October 9th

Every fall, NOAH (Nashville Organized for Action and Hope) holds its annual Public Meeting. These meetings are a time for accountability – from our city leaders and from ourselves. This year, NOAH will hold its first in-person annual meeting since 2019! We will gather at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 9, at Jefferson Street Missionary Baptist Church, 2708 Jefferson St. Mayor Cooper and other decision-makers will be present to see how NOAH is "Building the Beloved Community" and to answer our questions.

Issues to be presented include:

  1. An East Bank plan that provides real benefits for Nashville workers and residents;

  2. An Affordable Housing strategy with robust and reliable funding;

  3. A diverse and inclusive committee that develops a plan for mental health response to crisis (instead of law-enforcement)

  4. Clear goals and outcomes for racial equity in school discipline and advanced academics

We will also be honoring the legacy of our late organizer and community leader, Rev. Eugene Se'Bree, as well as celebrating NOAH’s wins and welcoming new NOAH Member Organizations.

Be sure to join the GNUUC delegation at this important meeting, where NOAH will demonstrate its power and strength in numbers. It is recommended to arrive by 2:45 pm. You can save time by registering in advance using the QR code on the attached flyer. Contact Nancy or Doug with questions, or if you are interested in carpooling to the meeting from GNUUC.
