July Share the Plate Partner: Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and North Mississippi

Our Share the Plate partner this month is Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and North Mississippi, one of Tennessee's oldest and largest private, nonprofit health care agencies. For over 75 years, PPTNM has remained committed to providing high-quality, affordable reproductive services and education throughout Tennessee, North Mississippi, and part of Arkansas.

PPTNM’s mission is to improve health and well-being by providing high-quality non-judgmental sexual health care, honest and accurate sexuality education, and reproductive health and rights advocacy.

There are four health center locations in Tennessee:

Knoxville - this location is closed until further notice, due to an arson that destroyed its facilities in December 2021

Memphis - in Midtown

Memphis - near Summer and I-240

Nashville

Services provided at these locations include:

  • Abortion

  • Birth Control

  • Morning-After Pill (Emergency Contraception)

  • STD Testing, Treatment & Vaccines

  • Pregnancy Testing & Services

  • HIV Services

  • Men's Health Care

  • Women's Health Care

  • Transgender Hormone Therapy

Although still legal in the U.S., abortion access is at risk like never before. In Tennessee, as one of 13 states with trigger laws, abortion will likely become unattainable within 30 days of a Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, if not sooner. Planned Parenthood health centers are open and will continue to provide care. Patients need the services PPTNM provides, and PPTNM needs our support. #BansOffOurBodies.
