Room In The Inn’s Winter Shelter program runs from November through March each year, in coordination with almost 200 congregations throughout Middle Tennessee. The program provides safe shelter, warm meals, and fellowship for our neighbors struggling with homelessness during the coldest months of the year.

For the past several years, GNUUC has volunteered in RITI’s Winter Shelter program. We are sad that we aren’t able to do this during the pandemic. The pandemic is increasing homelessness, threatening the health of the homeless, and making providing services to the homeless more difficult. They can use our financial support all the more this year. Please give generously!

“When someone experiences hospitality and safety and a feeling of belonging, they experience sanctuary.” -- Charles Strobel, founding director of Room in the Inn.  Room In The Inn’s mission is “to provide programs that emphasize human development and recovery through education, self-help and work, centered in community and long term support for those who call the streets of Nashville home.”

The Social Action Committee chose Room In The Inn as the November share-the-plate organization recognizing their comprehensive programs that emphasize health, education, employment, and housing.
