September Share the Plate: Nashville AIDS Walk

HOW TO DONATE

Help Greater Nashville UU raise significant funds to support the critical mission of Nashville Cares.

Our goal this year is to raise over $1,000!

Here are ways to donate:

  • Most members of the congregation will be giving to Nashville Cares through the regular Share the Plate fundraiser.

You can donate via Breeze to “Share the Plate” or paper check, made out to “GNUUC” with “Share the Plate” in the memo.

50% of your donation will go to the Nashville Cares AIDS Walk, and 50% of your donation will go to the GNUUC plate.

  • If you are able to contribute $100 or more, your generous donation will go into the Direct Donor fund. If you want your donation to be in memory of someone, please let us know.

You can donate via Breeze to “Share the Plate” or paper check, made out to “GNUUC” with “Share the Plate” in the memo.

All September Share the Plate donations over $100 will go 100% to support our team at the Nashville AIDS Walk. Team captain, Kristin, will enter donations into the AIDS Walk website and you will get an email acknowledgement from Nashville Cares!

  • Anyone can also contribute directly to our Team at the Nashville Cares Walk, by going to our Team Page. This money will go directly to the Nashville AIDS Walk, contributing to our Team Goal of $1,000. (link: https://give.nashvillecares.org/gnuuc )

About Nashville Cares

At GNUUC we have a long standing tradition of supporting Nashville CARES through our enthusiastic participation in its annual AIDS Walk fundraising. Their mission is to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Middle Tennessee. They work to achieve this through education, advocacy and support for those at risk for, or living with, HIV.

“All services are based upon need, regardless of ability to pay. Nashville CARES provides indispensable help to those who need it, such as transportation services for medical appointments; food and nutrition assistance to make sure clients have what they need to live healthy lives; financial help for housing, utilities and other bills; in-home help, such as house cleaning, landscaping and shopping; insurance assistance to help with premiums and copays; educational programs, such as HealthyU, to help people develop healthy life skills and more; case management resources and the HEARTline, which provides confidential information and referral services; and so much more. But one of the most valuable services they are able to offer is free and confidential 20-minute testing.” (NFocus, Aug 12, 2021)

Nashville CARES is committed to following all CDC guidelines and recommendations, and Nashville Metro Health COVID restrictions, so this event may need to be moved from an in-person event, to a virtual platform.
