Share the Plate for July: Americans United for Separation of Church and State: ‘Freedom Without Favor, Equality Without Exception’

Americans United for Separation of Church and State is a nonpartisan educational and advocacy organization dedicated to advancing the separation of religion and government as the only way to ensure freedom of religion, including the right to believe or not believe, for all.

The Nashville Chapter of AU, founded in 2001, works to promote and protect religious freedom in Tennessee and in Nashville by educating, speaking out, monitoring state and local developments, and rallying citizens to defend religious liberty. It works with local organizations, community activists, faith leaders, and houses of worship to safeguard church-state separation.

An affiliate of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, the Nashville chapter organizes or sponsors educational programs that are free and open to the public. It alerts its members and supporters to measures that infringe on church-state separation and encourages them to contact their representatives about them. It works with the national organization to address possible violations of church-state separation in our area.

Please give generously this month to the crucial work of Americans United.
