Announcing Two New Task Forces: COVID-19 Safety Policy and Hybrid-Service Infrastructure
The recent Shared Ministries meeting on Sunday, September 12th, resulted in two lists of committed volunteers for two task forces: one to complete and manage the COVID 19 Safety Policy and one to manage infrastructure needs related to a hybrid service structure.
The support and encouragement of our new minister, Rev. Denise Gyauch, is inspiring and motivating! The outcome of both work efforts will make it easier for all of us to welcome and meet her in person, ideally in small, intimate groups.
The board currently has two policies separately addressing indoor and outdoor congregational events. Both policies reference CDC and UUA guidelines on how to keep people as safe as possible when meeting together:
Recommend vaccination for all eligible individuals
Require the use of effective masks when meeting indoors
Encourage people to be patient and kind with each other as we continue to adapt to a new normal
The sanctuary will utilize technology to integrate in-person services with Zoom; several models are under consideration. The Labor Day weekend board retreat successfully hosted a hybrid meeting from the sanctuary; feedback from this meeting will inform but not necessarily drive the model(s) used by GNUUC in the (near) future.
In addition, several ideas were presented to better host outdoor events at GNUUC. All of this requires time and talent. If you are interested in participating on a taskforce, focused on a defined goal and dissolved when the goal is achieved, please feel free to contact Kristin Reveal, chair of the GNUUC Shared Ministries group, me, or Kris T., and we will get you connected.
Thank you for your continued support of GNUUC during this difficult time.
Warmest and kind regards,
Caren
