Annual Stewardship Campaign: Pledge Forms are due!
INVITATION TO PLEDGE
Dear Friends,
This year, we celebrate Greater Nashville Unitarian Universalist Congregation’s 30th Anniversary. In the summer of 1994, we first met as a congregation and were recognized officially by the Unitarian Universalist Association. Since then Greater Nashville has been a home for those seeking a liberal religious community, a place to raise their children, a supportive institution, a gathering of friends.
Now is the time to make a commitment. If you are member, now is the time to strengthen your support. If you are a new visitor, new friend, now is the time to consider joining us and pledging your support — and consider joining us as a member. Reverend Denise would love to talk to you.
By giving our time, our talents, and our money, we can support those in need, and serve as a voice of love, acceptance, and hope in a world that needs to hear these things. Our pledges this spring will resource the first year of the NEXT 30 years of our congregation’s mission: to transform ourselves, our community, and our world through the power of love; to embody a sanctuary of compassion, integrity, and respect; and to champion justice, equity, and peace.
Pledge what you can for the new year. Know that if your circumstances change, you can adjust your pledge. If you can give more, do so, knowing that you are contributing more in a time when others can contribute less. Please visit https://www.nashvilleuu.org/pledge and pledge as generously as you are able.
Thank you for considering your pledge! But we have more to ask. This letter is a request for your financial support,
AND in deeper, wider, wilder ways, this letter is an invitation…
As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of our church, we reflect on the journey we've embarked upon together—not just over the past year, but spanning three decades. In this time, our congregation, our neighborhoods, and our wider community have witnessed profound changes. The world around us has evolved, and with it, so have our responsibilities and opportunities.
We cherish the rich legacy left by our founders—a legacy steeped in physical, intellectual, and spiritual treasures—and we recognize that we are now at a pivotal moment. It is a time that beckons us to embrace new ways of thinking, acting, and being together.
This pledge season we look to the next 30 years. It's a chance to rethink how we contribute to our shared life, to dream of the beautiful and powerful endeavors we can undertake together. Your generosity is not only the cornerstone of our community but also vital for fulfilling our collective vision—a vision committed to the transformative power of love.
This letter serves as an invitation to love—love for yourself, for each other, and for the wider community in which our church plays an integral role. It's an opportunity to decide who we want to be and how we wish to act moving forward. As we plan for the future, consider how you will contribute your time, attention, and resources to ensure our church thrives for the next 30 years.
Make your commitment to our future together at Greater Nashville Unitarian Universalist Congregation by visiting https://www.nashvilleuu.org/pledge and pledging as generously as you are able.
Now is the time. This is your invitation.
Yours in gratitude and generosity,
Rev. Denise Gyauch, Lead Minister
Jesse Spencer-Smith, Pledge Chair
