Property Tax Assistance: Still Time To Apply, but Deadline is July 1!
Metro has two property tax assistance programs for senior and disabled low-income homeowners. With the steep increase in property tax rates just approved by Metro Council, these programs are more important than ever. Due to COVID-19, the deadline to apply or renew this year was extended to July 1 (next Wednesday!).
Tax Relief Program - For homeowners 65 or older, or disabled homeowners of any age: Income cannot exceed $29,860 for the 2018 calendar year. The program gives reimbursements of some portion of property taxes.
Tax Freeze Program - For homeowners 65 or older: Total income of all owners of the property during 2018 cannot exceed $42,620. Property taxes are frozen at the previous year’s rate. (More info HERE.)

The deadline to renew or apply for Tax Relief and Tax Freeze is Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
