Ferns are any of numerous flowerless and seedless vascular plants having true roots from a rhizome and fronds that uncurl upward; ferns reproduce by spores. A fern is any one of a group of some twenty thousand species of plants classified in the Division Pteridophyta (growildinc.com). Among the first of the plants to truly live on land were the Pteridophytes (byjus.com).

Traditionally, the gift of Columbine, unlike most other flowers, was not a gift of love. To a man, it meant bad luck, and to a woman, it was an insult (Horn and Cathcart).
