Cynthia Stewart is collecting money or Christmas bags for the 800 incarcerated men at DeBerry Special Needs prison here in Nashville, where those who have severe medical and sometimes end of life needs are sent. The prison ministry she works for is already working on providing other things like shampoo, socks, and beanies, but would like some help purchasing goodies to go in the bag. Room In The Inn’s Winter Shelter program runs from November through March each year, in coordination with almost 200 congregations throughout Middle Tennessee. The program provides safe shelter, warm meals, and fellowship for our neighbors struggling with homelessness during the coldest months of the year. Read MoreThe Women’s Covenant Group will be open to new members at its next meeting, September 12, beginning at 2:30 PM and meeting in the RE building. The group uses the Soul Matters curriculum and meets twice monthly. Members make a commitment to prepare for each meeting, to attend all meetings for the upcoming quarter if it all possible, and to treat the conversations at meetings as confidential.
