  • Saint George’s Episcopal Church 4715 Harding Pike Nashville, TN, 37205 United States (map)

Well... here we are again on the cusp of Mozart’s Birthday! Born on January 27, 1756, Mozart’s 261st birthday is just weeks away and all of us at Mozart in Nashville are preparing to celebrate with two exciting concerts.  Please join us!

The first birthday celebration concert is on Friday, January 19th at Noon at Saint George’s Episcopal Church (4715 Harding Pike, Nashville 37215). Plenty of free parking available.

Then we repeat the program on Monday, January 22nd at 7pm at Edgehill United Methodist Church (1502 Edgehill Ave, Nashville 37212).  Birthday cake will be served.

This year the Mozart Birthday Festival Orchestra will perform the Laudamus Te from Mozart’s Grand Mass in C minor, as well as three of Mozart’s short songs: Evening Mood, The Violet, and Longing for Spring.  Matt Phelps will be conducting the orchestra with soloist Claire Boling singing. Roger will then join the orchestra with a performance of Mozart's final piano concerto, number 27 In Bb.

As part of Mozart’s birthday festivities, you can hear a preview of the piano concerto on classical 91.1 WPLN on Live in Studio C at noon on January 2nd. Roger will be performing on the piano accompanied by a string quintet from the Nashville Symphony.

This year Mozart in Nashville is partnering with The Children's Kindness Network. This local not-for-profit organization is at the forefront of countering bullying; teaching kindness and empathy to Nashville’s youngest citizens.

Admission is $10 at the door and proceeds from the concerts will be shared by the Children's Kindness Network and the venue.
